I already have the html and website style done. I dont't want to start over with a CMS coming with it's default style.

I just want to be able to add to my html :

1. An editable news / posting zone to the index and the news page.

2. A dynamic list of the latest news.

3. A couple of editable zones or pages.

What is the more simple CMS solution for this ?

A little bit of shameless self promotion here, but... we're working on a CMS that does exactly what you're looking for. It will be ready for beta testing very shortly. http://www.shepherdcms.com

You can try a db to html CMS. Should be easier than setting up and online database CMS.

You just take your html page and put tags where the text needs to go. Then enter your text in the programs data entry screens and apply it to your new html template. It will then create lots of pages of content all based on your template.

Try www.searchengineoptimizedcms.com for an example

You should try using www.iUpdateIt.com to do what you want. The system is not global the way most CMS is, but used for specific locations on a site. All you do is install a snippet of code into the site, and then anyone can use the web editing tool to make changes to that spot. Very targeted and easy to use.

Shameless plug #2: we've been non-stop lately, developing what we think is the most simple content management system on the web.

It uses a type of "front-end editing" whereby clients can edit their page by viewing their actual page and clicking on the editable areas, marked out by green boxes.

We've been in beta phase for about 2 months, and we're due to launch this week.

It's called Simple CMS and it's at http://www.simplecms.com/ (it's free for a single site, and you can use your own brand too - even with the free account)
